Green roof technology, although not yet fully established in the UK is also widespread in mainland Europe. However green roofs are set to be a major technology within the UK regeneration and construction industries. However currently there is limited knowledge and understanding of this technology beyond the main suppliers.

Green roofs can play a significant role in reducing the impacts of new construction projects and also on older buildings. The technology will become more important as climate change adaptability rises up the agenda.
